Misty came to us after her previous owners had loaned her to a family friend who had overworked and neglected her. Once they realized the condition she was in, they removed her and worked to find her a soft landing. We became her soft landing. She was underweight and covered in injuries from other horses. Her dental care had been long ignored and her radiographs showed signs of chronic laminitis, necessitating experienced farrier work and corrective measures. What we didn’t know was that Misty was also in foal, despite her estimated age of 16-18 years. She is now a permanent resident, along with her colt- Jackpot, who we were blessed with. Misty will never again know pain or neglect and is enjoying her retirement.
