Petey
Petey is a 17 year old paint horse gelding who previously did mounted patrol. He is gentle and kind. While starved upon intake, he continues to regain weight and strength. Petey will still require a thorough work-up by veterinary specialists to determine comfort and rideability as well as a trainer evaluation- but for now he is awaiting to be cleared from quarantine after being housed in close proximity with a Strangles-positive horse.
Grace
Grace is a 16 year old bay mare who showed obvious signs of neglect and mistreatment upon rescue. Being underweight with unmanaged allergies and ear disease was only the beginning- as shortly after her rescue she was diagnosed with Strangles, an incredibly contagious and uncomfortable respiratory illness. She continues to undergo invasive care to clear the infection and only then can her true mental and physical healing occur. She is gentle and loving, but hesitant to trust.
